Those Old People! ©

Not very often do I see something on the internet that I feel is worth sharing with you, the faithful readers of this “All About Seniors” column but today is an exception.

A week or so ago, the following anonymous piece was forwarded to me on Facebook ® by a very trusted friend of mine which caused me to read it (lots of stuff goes right to the digital trash can without wasting my time). But this piece is a tribute to “Those Old People”, many of whom I suspect are readers of this column. So here we go…..

Obviously, the writer of this piece, most probably one of “Those Old People” himself or herself, has recognized the cultural genteel values embodied in our generation that have largely been lost on the current generation. I’m not entirely sure of the reasons for that. I suspect the transition began back in the 60’s when our generation began to push God out of our public square and The Supreme Court somehow decided to agree with those who brought lawsuits before them so the trend could be codified in our legal system.

Can our “Ship of state” be turned around and once again embrace the values and culture that made our country the great nation it is today? I pray it can be.

Thank God for “Those Old People” who taught us what they did; may we have the wisdom and courage to pass it on to our children and grandchildren, and may they eyes to see and ears to hear and the will to embrace these values for themselves.

Thanks for reading “All About Seniors”…..see you next week!
